Code Nation

2015-2018, 2019-2022

Code Nation equipped students in under-resourced schools with the fundamental coding skills and professional experiences that together create access to careers in technology.

Deploying a volunteer teaching corps of professional web and software developers alongside a network of school and company partners, Code Nation provided coding courses and work-based learning programs to students who attend under-resourced high schools.

Arbor Rising partnered with the Code Nation management team on a number of key deliverables, including:

  • Theory of Change — clarifying the population served, type of intervention, and target outcomes

  • Financial Model — to monitor fundraising progress, create multiyear budget projections, and track key programmatic outcomes

  • Board Management – tools and standards for recruiting, managing, and engaging the organization’s board of directors

  • Performance Management System – establishing roles, goals, and accountability targets for staff
